Study E-Commerce SEO in South Korea's Digital Hub

Busan's e-commerce scene is pretty wild right now. Local businesses are shifting online faster than anyone predicted, and they're hungry for people who actually understand how to make products visible in search results.

Our program connects international students with real Korean e-commerce companies. You'll work on actual optimization projects while learning the technical side — everything from Korean search engine quirks to handling multilingual product catalogs.

Classes start in August 2025. We're keeping groups small this year because the hands-on component requires close mentorship. Most of our graduates from 2024 ended up staying in Korea to work, though that wasn't necessarily the plan when they started.

How the Learning Structure Works

We've built this around three overlapping phases. You're not moving through rigid modules — instead, you're gradually taking on more complex challenges as your understanding deepens.

Technical Foundation

First two months focus on the mechanics. Korean search engines behave differently from what you might be used to, and understanding why matters more than memorizing tactics.

  • Search algorithm fundamentals and ranking factors
  • Technical site audits for e-commerce platforms
  • Structured data for product catalogs
  • Performance optimization for mobile commerce
  • Analytics setup and interpretation

Applied Client Work

From month three onwards, you're paired with a local business. These aren't simulations — you'll be working on their actual site, with real stakes and feedback from actual customers.

  • Keyword research for Korean markets
  • Content optimization for product pages
  • Link building strategies that work here
  • Competitive analysis and positioning
  • Conversion rate considerations

Strategic Development

The final phase is about connecting tactics to business outcomes. You'll present recommendations to company stakeholders and learn to justify your decisions with data.

  • SEO strategy development for growing businesses
  • Budget allocation and priority setting
  • Cross-channel integration approaches
  • Team collaboration and communication
  • Measuring long-term impact

What Past Participants Actually Say

These are students who went through the 2024 program. We asked them to be honest about what worked and what didn't.

The hardest part was understanding how Naver's algorithm prioritizes content differently than Google. Once that clicked, everything else made more sense. My client saw their organic traffic double between November and February, which was pretty exciting to watch happen.

I thought I knew SEO before coming here. Turns out I knew one type of SEO that doesn't necessarily apply in Asian markets. The program forced me to rethink a lot of assumptions. The mentorship was solid — they pushed back when my ideas wouldn't work but explained why in detail.

Student Spotlight

Katrin joined us in August 2024 after working in digital marketing back home. She wanted to understand e-commerce optimization in a market that was growing fast.

Her client project involved a mid-sized fashion retailer struggling with product page visibility. Over five months, she rebuilt their site architecture and rewrote product descriptions based on actual search behavior data.

The results took time to show up, but when they did, the client extended her contract. She's still working with them now, managing their full search strategy.
